NCSA’s

6 December 2012 Leave a comment

Applications are now being accepted for National Cadet Special Activities. For those who are not familiar with the activities, applicable fees and requirements for each, that information can be found on the national website.

The deadline for applications is the 15th of January 2012 and I urge every cadet interested to apply to attend something. Even if you are not sure if you can make it, or if money is a problem. You can always decline to attend activities you have been accepted to, but you will not be able to apply after the deadline.

Apply for everything you are seriously interested in. Keep in mind that selection is a somewhat competitive process, if you aren’t accepted you will end up as an alternate and may still be able to attend depending on how many primary attendees withdraw. Applying for multiple activities will increase your chances of being selected to at least one of them.

You must apply through eservices, so if you haven’t activated you account you really need to do so. Links to eservices are below.

Attention Pre-NCO Cadets!:  The first quarterly Maine Wing Airman’s Clinic is scheduled for January 11-13, 2013 in Bangor.  This activity is designed to give you everything you need to jump-start your development and put you on the leadership fast-track in the CAP Cadet Program.  Successful completion will give you everything you need to test for Staff Sergeant (exception time in grade and minimum fitness requirements.)  The only prerequisite is you must be safety current upon arrival.

Cadet applicants and prospective Cadet Staff members must submit CAPF 31, Application for CAP Encampment or Special Activity.  Senior Staff applicants must submit a CAPF 17, Application for Senior Member Activities.  Cadet staff participation is open to those Senior Airmen and above meeting all Staff Sergeant promotion criteria except time in grade and completion of the promotion exam.

Application deadlines are:

Cadet Attendees         December 22

Cadet Staff                 December 14

Senior Staff                 December 24

Forward completed applications to 2Lt Jim LaPrade, Assistant Director of Cadet Activities at jlapradejr@roadrunner.com, or to his attention, C/O 38th Composite Squadron, 84 Caruso Dr., Trenton, ME 04605.

Slight change of plans, no fee will be charged for airman attending, the same goes for cadet and senior staff. Space is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible if you wish to attend.

For planning purposes, attending Cadets should arrive at the Bangor Squadron Headquarters between 1700 and 2100 Friday evening, January 11.  Graduation is planned for 1530 on Sunday, January 13, and guests are welcome.  Please forward your guest list to the email address above as soon as possible.
